چکیده

Abstract In the previous part of paper, a novel method to reconstruct compressor nonuniform circumferential flow field using spatially undersampled data points is developed. this applied two research articles further demonstrate potential in resolving important features associated with these nonuniformities. first experiment, static pressure at leading edge vaned diffuser high-speed centrifugal reconstructed readings from nine taps placed on hub diffuser. The magnitude and phase information for three dominant wavelets are characterized. Additionally, shows significant advantages over traditional averaging methods calculating repeatable mean values pressure. While multi-wavelet approximation method, errors one dropout measurement 70% less than pitchwise-averaging method. second full annulus total downstream Stator 2 three-stage axial small segment representing 20% coverage annulus. Results show very good agreement between profile experiment variety spanwise locations near shroud. blade row interactions accounting passage-to-passage variations resolved profile.

Reconstructing MR images from undersampled data: data-weighting considerations.

Data which are sampled more densely than the Nyquist limit in k-space are weighted prior to reconstruction by the inverse of the local sampling density. This work considers the effects of weighting data that are sampled less densely than the Nyquist limit. It specifically analyzes azimuthally undersampled projection reconstruction, variable density spirals, and variable density phase encoding. ...

Helicon experiments and simulations in nonuniform magnetic field configurations

Wave, antenna impedance, plasma density, and temperature anisotropy measurements are carried out for a helicon plasma source in nonuniform and uniform static magnetic fields. Strong axial density gradients associated with the nonuniform magnetic fields are observed to affect wave fields, absorption, and source efficiency. The wave field and antenna input impedance measurements are compared with...

Spatially-Balanced Complete Block designs for field experiments

Spatial heterogeneity in fields may affect the outcome of experiments. The conventional randomized allocation of treatments to plots may cause bias and variable precision in the presence of trends (including periodicity) and spatial autocorrelation. Agricultural scientists appear to mostly use conventional experimental designs that are susceptible to adverse affects from field variability. The ...

The Practical Value of Field Experiments

In recent years, many firms have had greater opportunities to conduct field experiments to help improve their marketing decisions, but the practical value of using field experiments to optimize marketing decisions remains relatively unstudied. We investigate advertising and promotion decisions that require estimating a large matrix of cross-product demand elasticities and ask: how many experime...

Spatially Resolved Compressor Characteristics for Modeling and Control of Blade-Scale Flow Instabilities

A numerical technique capable of simulating blade-scale compression system ow instabilities over times scales spanning tens of rotor revolutions is presented. Simulations of stall inception, growth to fully-developed rotating stall, and evidence for hysteresis, secondary instabilities, and other nonlinear phenomena are presented. Signal processing techniques for ow asymmetry characterization ar...
